It's been 2 weeks since my painting class and I'm invading my dad's studio for further supervision as I try another painting. I chose the yellow vase, hoping it wouldn't be too hard a subject since I'm all of a sudden feeling nervous about painting outside the "magic" aura of the classroom.
My teacher/dad had other ideas, adding the grapes to balance the composition. I never thought of grapes as scary objects until then. I liked the idea of them in the painting, but somehow kept from painting them as long as possible.
